Service Revenue Audit Fundamentals

A six-week program that turns delivery logs, contracts, and invoices into an auditable story inside a financial auditing app workflow.

Notebooks and laptop prepared for a training session

What you will practice

  • Design a sample plan for multi-site service contracts common in Hong Kong.
  • Reconcile delivery timestamps with invoice lines and credit notes.
  • Classify exceptions that need ops follow-up versus accounting adjustments.
  • Document findings so a controller can re-perform the test without a walkthrough.
  • Use a financial auditing app pattern for service delivery revenue audits without treating the tool as a black box.

Modules

  1. 01

    Service book anatomy

Map how work orders, SLAs, and retainers create revenue recognition points — and where they diverge in practice.

  2. 02

    Evidence standards

Define what counts as delivery proof for desk work versus on-site crews, including photo and checklist norms.

  3. 03

    Sampling without theatre

Size samples for mid-market volumes; avoid over-testing low-risk fee lines while missing high-variance sites.

  4. 04

    App-supported reconciliation

Walk a financial auditing app flow: import extracts, match keys, flag breaks, and export an exception queue.

  5. 05

    Writing findings that travel

Draft exception narratives that ops can fix and finance can post — with clear owners and due dates.

  6. 06

    Month-end rehearsal

Run a timed close simulation using anonymized Hong Kong multi-entity service data.

Participant notes

“Module 04 finally showed our analysts which match keys to trust. We still struggle when subcontractors use their own ticket IDs — the course is honest that the app cannot invent a shared key for you.”

— Priya S., Internal Audit

★★★★☆ · “Solid on sampling. The live Hong Kong case in week six matched the chaos we see on multi-tower contracts.”

FAQ

Do I need an existing financial auditing app?

No. We teach a reference workflow you can apply in spreadsheets first, then map into the tools your firm already licenses.

What is a real limitation of this course?

We do not certify you under Hong Kong Institute of CPAs or any statutory audit standard. This program is operational revenue auditing for service delivery — complementary to, not a substitute for, statutory audit training.

Is payment available on this website?

No. Pricing is informational. Enrolment and invoices are arranged through our contact team.

Can finance and operations join the same cohort?

Yes — mixed pairs often finish labs faster because exceptions get challenged from both sides in the room.
